In Tashkorgan you can learn more of Tajik culture.  Places to visit include the Stone Fort, grasslands, and the Tajik Cultural Relic Museum where you can see mummies.  Drive a little further and you can visit the Hunjirab Pass leading into Pakistan where you can take your picture with friendly border guards and get a great view of the mountains.
